Started as an Inktober challenge, back in 2018, black and white illustrations of flowers became a series of personal pieces. All 31 flower was painted in a more expressive manner than usual, giving the process the most attention. Monochrome aesthetic is something I always enjoyed personally and flowy black ink effects are definitely worth sharing.
Every flower was painted from personal references: photographs taken during trips, my bridal bouquet and flowers received as a gift. Studying flowers and turning them into these more abstract, graphic artworks was a challenge that I was happy to take on.
Series include 3 round illustrations: Peony, Rose and Dahlia flowers.
This project was an amazing journey and a chance to reflect more on how exciting the painting process truly is, that we can forget so easily while having tight deadlines.
